Feeling like a kid who just woke up on her birthday (imagine that it also happens to be Christmas/New Year's Day/whatever holiday there is), I got in line with Blooey at around 6:20 a.m. outside Powerbooks GB to finally get my copy of Deathly Hallows.
So there we were in our custom-made shirts, attracting a few curious glances... apparently people didn't think there were two girls crazy enough to actually proclaim their love for Snape. I was getting excited with each passing minute when Mika arrived (around quarter to 7, I think), so we spent a few minutes camwhoring to kill the time. The line just kept getting longer... I think it almost stretched to Avant.
When the doors finally opened, I felt so giddy. Powerbooks attendants were actually giving out the books so that everybody could get their copy in a nice organized manner. (It would've been more fun if there was a mad dash for the books though...) As soon as I got my copy, which was uncovered, I put it under my nose and inhaled the wonderful fresh scent of a new HP book (weird, I know). The first thing I did after opening it was to skim the Chapter names, gasping every now and then (hello, The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore?!). I was still in line when I started reading the first chapter, immediately giggling that the Death Eater Yaxley finally had speaking lines, with Mika raising her eyebrows at me the whole time.
All in all, it was a good day, although it ended with me crying after I'd finished the book. I.S.W.T. -- and Chapter 33 proves it!
Only a few minutes to go...
